Unlike most power catamaran builders in this general size range who simply modify their existing sailing catamaran hulls, Lagoon commissioned the designers Philippe Sabrero and Xavier Fays to develope a power catamaran from a clean sheet of paper (more like a blank computer screen).

The result was the Lagoon Power 43 catamaran (LP43) first introduced as a 2001 model. The high volume hulls had outboard and inboard chines above the waterline to reduce spray and below the waterline there were GRP skegs to protect the running gear as well as mini-keels for directional stability plus the option to "dry-out" on an ebb tide.

The interior layouts varied between a 4 stateroom/4 head compartment layout for charter (though not many charter layouts were built) to the popular 3 stateroom/3 head compartment owner version, and the preferable 2 stateroom/2 head compartment w/separate office owner version. Both owner layouts offered a full beam master stateroom aft that can only be found on larger monohull designs or much larger catamaran designs.

For the 2006 model year, Lagoon improved the one design short fall of the LP43, which was a redesign of the flybridge that could only accommodate 3 adults somewhat comfortably. So for 2006 Lagoon introduced the LP44 with a true flybridge that can accommodate more guests than you would want to feed or drink! The helmsman is now never alone and the LP44 flybridge creates a whole other area for relaxing and watching beautiful sunsets.

FINAL APPROACH is the much preferred owner's version with two staterooms/two head compartments plus office layout which affords a great amount of additional space and storage for live aboard owners or those looking to do more extended cruising.

The luxurious panoramic aft master stateroom encompasses the entire beam of the boat and includes a king size island bed, and an abundance of wardrobe storage and counter space. The ensuite bathroom is split with a large shower room with vanity to starboard and a water closet (bathroom) with vanity to port.

The equally comfortable and bright private port forward guest stateroom includes a comfortable double berth, excellent wardrobe storage and a private ensuite bathroom.

The starboard forward office is really more than just an office. It's a nice area when looking for a quite place to read. The additional storage the office offers, along with not having a third head compartment, adds a tremendous amount of extra "space" for having a washer/dryer and additional galley storage on board.

The large galley is a chef's delight with excellent storage and counter space, direct access to the saloon, four burner propane stove with oven/broiler, and a total of three fridge/freezers (not including the flybridge fridge).

The saloon has 360° visibility with Lagoon's signature vertical windows and sliding cockpit door, a large "L" shaped leather settee with two teak chairs, a dinning table (or cocktail table) and a lower helm station with a leather upholstered adjustable helm seat with back rest/arm rests.

The midship cockpit, which is on the same level as the saloon, is protected while still offering a splendid view and safe access to the flybridge. In addition, there is a comfortable cockpit on the foredeck and a wide full beam teak transom aft for easy access to/from the tender and operation of the hydraulic tender crane.

FINAL APPROACH was thoroughly well equipped by her original owner and the current owners (2nd owners) have spared no expense in upgrades and maintaining her in true Bristol fashion. She is equipped for long term cruising in total comfort and safety as well as full time living aboard.

FINAL APPROACH is one of the last Lagoon 44 Power Cats built and seriously for sale by owners who have scratched off another item on their bucket list.
